£45.00£50.00

To many people in the USA, the 1950s were amongst the glory years with the fields well stocked with Ferrari’s that many of us in Europe had never seen before. It was written by the late Michael Lynch who is one of America’s best historians of the era. He joined forces with William Edgar and Ron Parravano as both Edgar and Parravano’s father were amongst the most prolific entrants of Ferraris and the like For Europeans the amount of 1950’s colour photographs of racing at that time is impressive for at that time very few racing photographs were published in Britain and the Continent due to printing costs. These pictures jump off the page but Lynch’s writing is in command and he tells a fascinating story of how sports car racing took hold in the United States and produced all of America’s leading grand prix drivers.

This book should be better known if only to let Europeans realise how vibrant sports car racing became in America
