Roger Nathan: An Adventurous Life

£38.00£42.00

This soft cover A5 book was written by Roger Nathan racing driver and specialist with Hillman Imps. He was succesful racing a Brabham BT8 sports car but became more internationally known when he designed and developed the Costin-Nathan Imp engine sports racing car in 1965.

Like the Marcos in which Jackie Stewart started his racing career the original Costin Nathan had a wooden monocoque with a tubular space frame and weighed just 390 kilos. Powered by a 998cc Hillman Imp engine and Jack Knight gearbox it began to win races. It had a slippery bodywork designed by Frank Costin and two years later came the GT Coupe version and a year later the Nathan GT BMW. Then came his three Astra models powered by Climax Ford FVA and Ford FVC engines. This is a fascinating book with a lot of background information of British sports car racing in the period.

The book is dedicated to Graham Gauld and signed by Roger Nathan.
