This first volume of the history of the Australian Grand Prix was given to Graham Gauld by the author John Blanden at the Classic Adelaide Rally in 2002. It is hardcover with a paper slip cover and is not only a detailed background to the original Australian Grands Prix that saw the 100 Mile Road Race in 1928 on Philip Island lead to the first race to be called the Australian Grand Prix, the 1929 event won by Arthur Terdich with a T37A Bugatti.

Not only is this book well researched it has a wealth of photographs from the period of the races and the personalities including the arrival of British drivers like Peter Whitehead in 1938.
