This hard cover book was a classic and was one of a series of in depth books published by the Londsdale Press on many different sports and games.
The Motor Racing version was mainly written and produced by S.C.”Sammy” Davis, racing driver, Le Mans winner, and one of Britains finest motoring journalist of the pre-war period.
This third Edition was produced in 1957 and so brings in the period when Mercedes Benz returned to the sport in 1954/55.
Each chapter covers a specific area such as suspension, fuel injection, chassis design etc and was the standard book of the period.
My copy does not have its original paper cover and is in good condition but its historical value is reflected in the prices it commands today.
