The Motor Year Book 1956

£20.00£30.00

For a number of years The Motor magazine produced a hard cover year book covering the new cars of that year, technical trends, motor racing and records. Apart from recalling such long forgotten cars as the Daimler Conquest Drop-head Coupe, the Humber Hawk Estate Car and the Graber bodied Alvis. All are described along with the new cars launched in 1955. There is an entire chapter on the 1955 grand prix cars written by the legendary Laurence Pomeroy.

What is of particular interest are the results pages with photographs and race reports includingl entry lists and practice times not only of Formula 1 but sports car racing and even production car racing. There are even results of small club racing events. For example, Ken Tyrrell won the 500cc race in his Cooper held at the almost forgotten Cornwall racing circuit, Davistow.
The paper cover has tears and wrinkles in places but the book itself is in perfect condition.
