The Concours d’Elegance has come a long way since the earliest events in the 1920s and 30s and today perhaps the most important series in the United Kingdom is planned and exhibited in some of the Royal Palaces owned by the Queen of England.

This is one of two of the superbly produced hardcover books of nearly 180 pages with superb photography and descriptions of every car shown, in this case, in 2014 at Hampton Court Palace by the Thames in London.

The cars on show each year are amongst the most beautiful and historical evr produced as well as a number of racing cars displayed in magnificent surroundings. Cars come from all over the World and from the finest collections and individuals.

In 2014, for example, there was the unique Jaguar Xk140 which was given coachwork by Zagato by an Italian Jaguar dealer after the original car had been involved in an accident.
Then there was the 1931 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 styled by Touring of Milan which won the Villa d’Este concours that year and photographed below.

Another rare racing car brought over from the USA was the stunning 1953 Ferrari 340/375 MM Vignale spider with its vestigial rear wing that was raced by Phil Hill and Richie Ginther in the Pan American Road race that year also shown below.

These books are reflections of the finest in coachbuilding and performance through the years.
